Gold Jewelry

James McCall-Harkness

I have been making jewelry for over 6 years, primarily using silver and gold. I also use copper and brass in some pieces for tone and contrast.

Living so close to the lake district I wanted to incorporate a part of the Lakes in my work. After experimenting with different ideas I found wood to be the perfect medium to use alongside metal. Wood gives a beautiful warmth and makes a piece of jewellery really stand out, whilst also feeling closer to nature.

I am passionate about making jewellery that reflects the person wearing it. Everything from the type of metal, the finish, the colours and the fit is influenced by the person wearing the piece and how and where they want to wear it.

I'm also passionate about people trying to make jewellery for themselves! Therefore, after careful planning, I created experience days where anybody can have a go and make their own piece of jewellery in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
